Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars Beautifully made, but a barometer is probably more accurate   February 21, 2010
James W. Ross MD
This beautiful unit was very well packed and received promptly. It did require a mounting hook, sold separately.

Regarding accuracy, it accurately predicted the latest blizzard we had here in Virginia. Note that you do have to allow 12 hours for the crystals to settle before using it. Also, mine got "stuck" after the first storm and the crystals would not redissolve when the weather cleared. I had to shake it up to "reset" it.

Overall, a beautiful conversation piece, but Weather Radar or even a barometer is probably more reliable if that is what you require.

I ordered this product on 12/14/08 and as of 12/21/08 I have not received any information regarding its shipment. I have received no updates from the company and am extremely disappointed that I will likely not have it in time for Christmas.

I purchased this stormglass as a gift for my husband, a real weather buff. He absolutely loved it. It is so interesting to watch the crystals form and interpret it from the chart that came with the instrument, In fact we framed the chart so other people can interpret the crystal formation also. It is a beautiful instrument and good conversational piece.

I bought this for my parents for Christmas. I live in Australia and didn't really leave much time for shipping. But it came well wrapped and was speedily delivered!

4 out of 5 stars Does it really work?   September 6, 2007

I bought this item because of it's uniqueness. It's really interesting. But I rarely notice changes in it so I question if it really works. From the way I read the instructions my weather should always be cool/rainy and changing...but it's been hot and dry for weeks. I still enjoy it.
